EMILY MITCHELL, HARP & MARGARET SWINCHOSKI, FLUTE

Legacy Duo began in 2006 with a spectacular recital at the Chappaqua (NY) Library's Chamber Music Series. The standing room only concert featured works by Persichetti, Francaix, Rota and Piazzola. Over the next three years the duo performed several recitals at various venues throughout the Tri-State area. Their recitals included some rarely heard works (including works by Schaposhnikov, Rota, Francaix and Corigliano), Celtic music (featured on WFUV [Fordham] with host, Robert Sherman) and even a fully choreographed "Art of the Dance" program. A further chamber music venture was explored in 2009 with "Voyage to the Land of Tenderness" a concert that featured the New York premiere of Richard Faith's "Quintet" for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and harp. Their music making was forced into hiatus by Emily's move to Texas. The two women hope to be making music again together soon and are open to any possibilities!!
